In the village of Tamegroute, potters stand waist-high in pits dug into the ground, shaping clay with unique dexterity. Their hands, sculpting with unrivalled speed and mastery, give birth to unique pieces, imbued with soul and history.
The deep, bewitching hues of this pottery – an intense green or ochre brown – are the result of a subtle blend of manganese, copper oxide and barley flour, an alchemy that gives each piece its singular character. Firing in traditional kilns fired with palm leaves and dry wood reveals all the magic of these authentic creations.
